Gizmo

His name on the pedigree is Odyseus van Puur Gout. Spot was to join us in June, but we also wanted a ‘Whiskat’ cat. Years ago we saw a commercial on television with kittens playing in the snow. This was so cute and I said: “one day I would like to have such a cat”. I did not know then that the kittens were British Shorthairs. Then our cat Swieber died and we were left with only two cats instead of five. We looked on the website of Cattery van Puur Gout and made an appointment to take a look at the kittens they had. There were 3 kittens and two of them had already been claimed. We hoped the one that was left would be the broad-headed tomcat and indeed, a week later we heard that this was the kitten we could have; we were very happy.
So Spot had a new little friend and when Gizmo arrived we had a great time. He snarled at the other cats and made very comic jumps and Twister and Nero were imitating him. Tijger was laying on the couch and just looked at the other cats playing. After about an hour it was quiet again, but Nero was very busy washing Gizmo and Gizmo liked it. In fact Gizmo likes washing so much that is cheeky enough to wake up Nero and make him wash him. Gizmo is the quietest cat. He likes to be combed and to be with us all the time, but cuddling is allowed only when he whishes it. Now and then he has his “wild ten minutes” during which time he makes comic jumps and mews very strangely. This proves to be catching, for the other cats join him and they end up playing together.
